The Régie incendie Memphremagog Est has set up a new program for people who require special assistance for evacuation in the event of a fire. This program is intended for people with a specific disability (intellectual, hard of hearing, blind, disabled and elderly people with motricity or other problems) and who reside in the municipalities served by the Régie incendie Memphremagog Est, namely: Sainte-Catherine-de-Hatley, Ayer’s Cliff, Stanstead, Canton de Hatley, Canton de Stanstead, Ogden, Hatley, Barnston Ouest, Stanstead-Est and de North Hatley.

These people are invited to complete a form, on a voluntary basis, so as to inform the Fire Department of their situation. In the event of a call for a fire, the dispatcher will inform the firefighters of the presence of a person requiring special assistance and of their probable location in the house; the goal being to optimize interventions and evacuate these people quickly.

This free service is intended primarily for people with disabilities or people with a permanent limitation and sufficiently reduced to limit their ability to react in a situation. The information contained in the register is strictly confidential. It may not be used for purposes other than to ensure the safety of persons in the event of a disaster. To register, simply complete the form provided for this purpose and return it by mail or email to:
